Dr. Imran Nisar, MBBS, PhD, is Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Research at Aga Khan University. His research focuses on maternal and child health, infectious diseases, and data sciences. He leads a Hepatitis E vaccine trial in pregnant women and a Gates Foundation-funded project on maternal vaccine readiness in Pakistan. He directs the CITRIC Center for Bioinformatics and represents AKU in the Asia Pathogen Genomic Initiative. Dr. Nisar collaborates with global partners, including Chan Zuckerberg Biohub, and is a member of the GAVI RSV working group. He has 140+ publications, teaches graduate courses, mentors students, and serves on the PLOS Global Public Health editorial board.

Midhat holds a Bachelor`s in Business Administration from IBA Karachi, where she was a Merit Scholarship holder (2006–2010). She is the Co-Founder & Director of TEXT, a big data and mobile engagement platform funded by UKaid and the Gates Foundation to enhance education and primary healthcare in Pakistan. Previously, she worked as a Strategy Associate at The Resource Group (2010–2013) and was an Honorary Member of The Fellowship (2013–2014), an AKDN leadership initiative. Her other projects include work with Oxfam USA on girls education and flood relief campaigns. She has also studied research methods at LSE and data science online.

Dr. Sana Syed, MD, MSCR, MSDS, is a Pediatric Gastroenterologist whose NIH-funded research targets global childhood undernutrition and gastrointestinal diseases. As an adjunct research faculty member at AKU and a faculty member at the School of Medicine at Duke University in the United States, she advances precision medicine through innovative diagnostics and treatments for inflammatory gut diseases that affect growth. Her global health initiatives apply molecular and computational tools to study environmental enteropathy - a key cause of stunting in Pakistan, Zambia, and Bangladesh, and related bowel disorders. A dedicated advocate for equity, Dr. Syed leads diversity-focused programs that support women and underrepresented minorities in science and medicine, promoting inclusive excellence in both academic and clinical research.

Riaz Khandwala brings over 25 years of experience in finance, having held senior roles at Bank of America and the Municipal Bond Insurance Association (MBIA). Since retiring in 2017, he has pursued a range of interests, including serving as a Detective with the Metropolitan Police in London, training as a pilot, and developing his artistic skills at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. Riaz holds an MBA from Rice University in Houston and continues to explore diverse passions with the same dedication that defined his professional career in the financial sector.

Naila Hasan brings over 30 years of leadership experience in multinational corporations across Pakistan and the Middle East. She most recently served as Business Manager for Pakistan at AstraZeneca (2013–2022). Before that, she served as Therapy Area Director for the Middle East & Africa at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in Dubai, following several senior roles at GSK Pakistan, including Marketing Director. Ms. Hasan began her career at Pfizer Pakistan. She holds an MBA from IBA Karachi and is a certified director from the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance. She currently serves on the boards of Premium Textile Mills and OLP Modaraba (formerly ORIX Modaraba).

Dr. Fatima Mir is an Associate Professor and Section Head of Paediatric Infectious Diseases at the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, Aga Khan University. She earned her MBBS from Khyber Medical College in 1997, completed her FCPS in Paediatrics in 2006, and received a Fellowship in Paediatric Infectious Diseases in 2010. Her clinical focus includes neonatal infections and paediatric HIV. With extensive academic experience as a Senior Instructor, Assistant, and Associate Professor, she also serves as a Consultant Paediatrician. Dr. Mir is a member of the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council and the Pakistan Society of Infectious Diseases, actively contributing to child health research.
