Malnutrition remains one of the most critical public health challenges in Pakistan, particularly in Sindh, where stunting, wasting, and micronutrient deficiencies among children under five are alarmingly high. According to the National Nutrition Survey, nearly 50% of children in Sindh are stunted, reflecting chronic undernutrition that threatens their physical and cognitive development. VITAL Pakistan Trust (VPT), in collaboration with UNICEF and the Government of Sindh (GoS), launched an integrated health, nutrition, and child protection initiative targeting high-risk areas of Karachi. The project focused on Union Councils (UCs) Manghopir and Songal and aimed to address the pressing healthcare and protection needs of underserved communities. VPT worked closely with stakeholders including the Department of Health (DoH) Sindh LHW’s Program, UN agencies, and various international and national NGOs to ensure a coordinated and effective response.
