As part of its integrated Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) program, VITAL Pakistan Trust (VPT) applies a continuum-of-care approach that begins during pregnancy and continues through a child’s early years. Once mothers receive antenatal care and give birth, they continue to engage with VPT centers for newborn immunizations and follow-up care. This consistent interaction builds trust and familiarity, making VPT centers a natural choice for families seeking care for their young children. To meet this need, VPT partners with Aga Khan University (AKU), which manages the Child Outpatient Department (Child Clinical Care) services across its clinics. These services address a critical gap in child healthcare, particularly in urban underserved communities where malnutrition and stunted growth are common.
